Poem

Eridu

When given in large doses or small amounts,
To a past age and all the forgotten accounts.
Having too much to say for just one story
It turns out to be a poem with tons of allegory.
Two kinds of light both being sun rays
As well as two different ways to count down days.
Not finding the fastest result
might find it proper to continue being an adult.
Just pass it by just let it be
stare at the sky fall asleep under a tree
Following the carrion eagle a word so bent
figuring out what the hell that serpent meant
Talk in your sleep and awake somnambulate
the river really is the best place to conjugate.
Tossed Turned left sunburned
up to the stars Ive yearned.
Finding out how to evolve
slow pace like watching salt dissolve
Or like trading trays for soups
put to order everyone jumps through the hoops
Is this something completely perfidious?
it cant be something that hideous
I can pay Ten pieces of eight
watch the masses create fire and desecrate
Unwilling something to sever
but will this endeavor last forever?
I will float among the wind
get lost spun around and spinned
I hear something sounds like laughter
proceeding to move towards it going faster
Climbing aboard a tiny boat
finding out all the noise is only a c note
This whole family is trying to relocate
the waves hit and they accelerate
Calm is all gone chaos is now present
feeling fine before is now unpleasant
I final cry the snake was too sly
the life before ended up a lie
Sunken at last at the bottom of the sea
The migration was something not to be
praying to the dark side of the sun was the final plea.
